This service is offered to all new patients who are seeking psychiatric care. An initial evaluation entails a comprehensive assessment of presenting symptoms, establishing a diagnosis, and developing an individualized plan of care.

Our professional will begin the psychiatric evaluation by conducting a psychological exam involving a comprehensive evaluation of your presenting symptoms, past psychiatric history, family history of psychiatric disorders, developmental and psychosocial history, as well as an examination of your mental status.

In preparation for your consultation, we will ask you to fill out our online New Patient Intake Questionnaire, so we can begin the evaluation process with initial information regarding your condition, circumstances, and preferences.

The initial evaluation is a confidential one-on-one visit that will take about an hour. It is recommended that you bring documents of previous psychiatric assessments. Upon the completion of the assessment, our mental health professional will diagnose the disorder based on the criteria contained in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.

Your initial evaluation is a unique opportunity not only for us to get relevant information about you and for you to know more about our services. With our assessment, we will discuss recommendations with you, and if you decide to start treatment with us, we will work with you in developing a personalized treatment plan that’s flexible and fit for your current lifestyle.

The plan may include individual therapy, medication management, or a combination of these treatments. With your permission, we will gladly work with the other members of your healthcare team for optimal care coordination.
